Goodbye 2020, hello 2021 (hopefully it's a little better...)
No need to revisit this crappy year.
So, we are focusing on 2021 by crossing all that is possible and hoping that the hardest part is behind us.
We'll see
To end the year on a high note, I offer you my latest urban exploration shootings.
All of my photos are amazing, you will love it. Either way, you have no choice but to love my job because it is awesome and perfect.
In my image in short.
I also suggest a little reading of a short text.
Our freedom is inalienable
We caricature what we want in Belgium and France. We are like that, and nothing and no one will make us change. What if you don't like it ?
Never mind
Caricature is not made just to make people laugh, or to please. It makes you think, when you are able to do it.
A teacher, Mr. Samuel Paty, recently died for this freedom. Let’s not forget him.
“Erdoğan, in private life, he is very funny” - “Ouuuh ! The Prophet !”
Charlie Hebdo's latest cover, following Erdoğan's attacks on France
Charlie Hebdo
Definitely, I feel like the soul of a vigilante right now. And with that in mind, I’m offering you
a tutorial on how to find and burn out fake accounts and
other scam attempts on Facebook™.
What do you want. I enjoy participating in the happiness and security of humanity and the entire universe.
Josh’s tutorials
Don't thank me.
Humans : the most stupid creature
Aaah, the eternal human stupidity... Humans handily win the first prize for stupidity. Being supposedly an evolved creature, humans
prove every day that this might not be so true.
The second wave of the pandemic was feared but largely predictable. Necessarily...
We ask people simple things but no, it's too complicated. Result, it started again as in last March-April.
OK, some decisions of the authorities are very stupid (they close bars & restaurant but they leave schools open) and it is
your right to disagree with these decisions. But it is also your duty not to put the health of others at risk.
We have relied on collective common sense to get out of the crisis. We can see the result today... Well done people !
Soit.
To reward the smartest of you (therefore, those who visit this website), I am offering you a series of black and white night
photos of the streets of Mouscron. It's a safe bet that these are the last photos I was able to take before a probable general
reconfinement. Yeh.
Urban & nocturnal
To end on a much more tragic note...
Homage to Samuel Paty.
Thank you Sir.
To the darkness of winter
Rejoice brave people !
The long, warm summer evenings are finally behind us. Now make way for the endless and cold ends of the day, so favorable to introspection
and the quest for the divine that is hidden deep within everyone.
Or you can also stupefy yourself in front of the TV, this activity may be more suitable for you.
That being said, I offer you two new releases, made in the company of Ferver.
Four more forgotten industrial sites. For the moment, and it isn't for lack of trying, only these kinds of places have been accessible
to us. What do you want, that's it.
A small chapel is nevertheless invited among all these industrial sites. Thanks to it !
Little last minute gift ! A quick exploration made in March 2009 : the Giot Foundry.
Or when I do urbex before doing urbex.
With that, I wish you (your choice) a good flu, bronchitis or the always very fashionable Covid-19.
At the heart of industrial decline
The places visited recently were witnesses to the industrial greatness of Belgium.
Plenty of jobs (although workers then didn't work in the same conditions as they do today), a thriving economy and cities growing day by day.
Then came the decline.
Unemployment for all, politicians doing anything and everything and the sequalae’s that we know.
Entire regions have yet to recover and remain dominated by the vestiges of a glorious past bygone.
For the explorers that we are, it's obviously a pleasure to visit such places, especially as most will soon disappear. Let's make a clean sweep of the past, that seems to be the credo of our dear politicians. Are they ashamed of the failed industrial reconversion for which they are responsible ?
People & concrete : / Urbex :
Between encouraged vandalism (with in particular the scandalous debunking of statues of King Leopold II) and the disappearance of a park in the city where I live (I can no longer say "my" city as it disgusts me) in favor of a hundreds of shitty apartments, it was time that I survey the forgotten places to restore my moral health.
Come on, I can't help it.
History of rowing against the current and probably making me doomed, two articles exonerating facts about king Léopold II of Belgium
(1835-1909) : the first on LaLibre.be and the second on RTBF.be. A third about the words of Patrice Lumumba, the first Prime Minister
of the independent Congo, on LeVif.be. Note the harmful role of Arabs in Africa too often hidden by the so-called sole responsibility
of Westerners.
To those who blithely compare Leopold II to Hitler, learn the history of the country in which you live instead of blindly following the
extremists of the right-thinking left-wing politics !
Click on the logos to read the articles (in French !)
And in the same vein : justice for the family and the memory of George Floyd : yes. To erect this same Floyd as a hero, saint or what do I know : no. Although he absolutely didn't deserve to die, the guy had a nice criminal record. This man is not an example of morality.
2011-2020 : no government
Certainly, Belgium will never be a "normal" country. A decade ago, a serious government crisis had already nearly led to the country
disappearing.
History repeats itself...
I therefore take this opportunity to put back online the photo report that I had made during the demonstration of January 23, 2011.
Thanks to a few emails exchanged with one of the organizers, I had become the officially unofficial photographer of this demonstration.
To remind you where the country has already passed, I therefore give these few photos to you.
To find everything on WorldofJosh.be
Larry Page, Sergey Brin and their friends from Google™ can tremble ! WorldofJosh.be is already integrating
a powerful internal search engine.
The site with more than 130,000 billion referenced web pages can go into hiding.
And why did I integrate this powerful tool ? Uh ... well ... Have a good day
Obviously, I did not write this search engine myself. It’s Mathieu Chartier who kindly makes it available on the website Blog Internet-Formation (in French).
And as we say to the labour office : good research !
COVID-19 & deconfinement
Some reflections on people and deconfinement. All this is very reassuring and joyful...
I was already quite a misanthropist in the past. But with all that will follow in this paper, my conviction will only come out stronger.
Continue here !
FootHisto.be archives - Season 1
As my camera is still forbidden to go out, I take advantage of my few days off to get out of mothballs several topics that were
planned for my old website FootHisto.be.
Among the fascinating subjects that were mentioned on this wonderful website : the most prestigious stadiums in Belgium, just that !
It will trigger a real madness, I feel it
Another story : a long text evoking the late Excelsior Mouscron. Not the current ersatz, but the club that rocked my past as a supporter.
Good reading & good confinement (to the rare people who really respect it).
Hoping soon to be able to return to urbex.
This kind of slogan, which is very popular within NMBS/SNCB in another context, suits the current atmosphere of end's world
particularly well.
Already unintelligent at first, people have been showing for a few weeks that their brains have definitely not been able to evolve
since the anal stage dear to Sigmund Freud.
As I wander more than usual in stores and in the streets, I can't help but laugh inside when I see certain behaviors of people. Basic
thinking has given way to collective hysteria. Toilet paper has become the new Grail. Pathetic...
Attention, I absolutely do not deny the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic but damn it, think for two seconds before doing anything and
behaving like a narcotic zombie !
I take this opportunity to wish a speedy recovery to the victims of this new filth and good luck to the loved ones of the people affected.
Image taken from Chernobyl, mini-series produced by HBO.
The scenes of decontamination of the coronavirus are strangely similar.
In a moment of public salvation, I take this opportunity to enhance your quarantine with a few urban exploration visits.
Certainly, I should be reimbursed by the social security system to offer such a benefit to humanity.
To counter the coronavirus, I offer the following drugs :
Winter tour ? The weather becomes crazy...
What I like in winter is the snow. Seeing abandoned places under the white coat always offers a unique spectacle. And if the disadvantages include slippery roads and the obligation to dress warmly, the beauty of a winter landscape is well worth the effort.
Well... No more science fiction and a return to reality.
14°C/57.2°F at the beginning of February (seasonal normal: between 3/37.4 and 4°C/39.2°F) and showers worthy of an month in October,
it's normal, isn't it ?
Let us continue to deny the fact that the climate has gone crazy. We will talk about it when it is too late, namely in a few years.
On the seasonal menu (...) :
I'm back. Fire in the hole !
Tremble folks ! The Extreme-Urbex team is finally back on the roads !
Fear, suspense, drama and adrenaline, just for you !
With my adventurer companions D-Kryptage
Urbain and Kaptage, we are back.
For my part, my withdrawal from urbex lasted 1540 days. It was too much !
So here I am again in those forgotten places that I love so much.
On the return's program :
And to top it all :
It is with 8 years of delay that the Facebook™ page of WorldofJosh.be is finally created.
Better late than never 😁 https://t.co/fsxoxQykr5
