A vast industrial wasteland lost somewhere in Belgium, the Chaudronnerie ("boilermaking") du Coq will soon be a thing of the past.
Founded at the end of the 19th century, the metallurgical plant went through several assignments after it was first closed in the 1970's.
Thirty years later, the site is definitely abandoned. A few large concrete buildings and another, much older, brick buildings are left behind.
This is what we are going to visit on this beautiful sunny day.
At first glance, a place not really photogenic.
Always useful !
Don't get impaled !
The obligatory forgotten chair.
The first building is a large hall with many windows.
Light enters the workshop from all over.
A beautiful scale hidden at the back of an office.
Beautiful aesthetics.
Across the wasteland is a building that looks identical to the first.
Attached to the second building, an older structure.
The green toilets.
Almost hidden, a small shed from another age.
At the back of the site, the oldest building.
It’s old and it’s beautiful.
The framework is made of wood. This is rare for an industrial building.
Overview of the wasteland.
If we don't pay attention to it, we pass without seeing this beautiful gable.
Let us leave the Chaudronnerie du Coq in its solitude...
