Abandoned industrial sites often offer rather unexpected color palettes.
The place visited today is no exception to this rule. Between the mosses of an almost fluorescent green and the machines painted in
different colors, the Salle des Compresseurs (“Compressor Room”) is far from a dreary and drab place. Obviously, time has done its
work there and the site is doomed to disappear. Nature has already started and some walls are already completely covered by vegetation.
Adjoining the room, a large hangar used to store raw materials from the neighboring coking plant. As for the compressors, these were used to
compress the gases coming from the same coking plant, in order to reuse them. There are four massive compressors.
The place can be dangerous if left unchecked, as in any industrial site.
Not only can the floor be tricky, but the smells you can smell there quickly make it clear that it's best not to hang around here too much.
A well-hidden and quite dark place.
One of four compressors.
Mother Nature resuming her rights.
Most of the plates making up the floor are missing.
If you're not careful, you fall several meters into a drowned basement.
An antique control board.
A very nice place.
The large hangar.
Flashy colors.
We leave the place !
