Almost 9 years after my first visit, we returned to the old NMBS/SNCB depot.
If we knew that all the locomotives had been scrapped, we still had to see a small signal box. Unfortunately, it was completely
flooded and it was impossible for us to enter the small building. Regardless, a window still allowed us to see the interior of this
ancient railway installation.
After the signal box, we walked through the now deserted depot. And to our surprise, it has stood the test of time and vandals pretty well.
The switch box controlled all switches in the depot.
A rudimentary installation but of great importance.
Each lever commanded a switch. Some levers have disappeared.
The depot itself. In addition to serving as a depot, the large building also served as a locomotive maintenance workshop.
The concrete cathedral still there.
End of visit.
