Yeah, a dilapidated castle that nobody seems to know !
I had already search after a nice name when I understood that this castle is a very known spot. Disappointment, depression,
desire to murder and hanged and all the rest. Sniff. Damn...
This relative disappointment is easily explained.
First, I fall quite by chance on an article telling the sad story of the manor visited today. I note the address (which will
remain forgotten for nearly two years) and it's always with the same chance that I find myself in the middle of the saggy
ceilings and walls of this beautiful castle.
Then, I never look at pictures of places already explored (for securing a minimum of surprise when I visited), I had no idea
what I'll find there. A staging and a book with the evocative title will make me quickly realize that I wasn't the first to come here.
Finally, I knew that the Château Congo was around, but didn't know exactly where. By skimming the Internet, I saw the same pictures
I had done. Hell & damnation. Re-sniff.
Either.
I'm certainly not the first to come here (and no matter eventually), but perhaps the last. And it saddens me.
Once is not custom, the deplorable condition of the building is caused by the owner himself. Having no scruples, he doesn't
hesitate to dismantle the castle and sell all that can be. The town seems to be worry about the future of the site, but it's
already too late. Inside, there are only a few rooms available (not even talking about the floors...) and collapses are to be
seen everywhere. Still some harsh winter and the Château Congo will disappear.
Visit with Marie-Eve.
The general appearance of the castle : mess and damage everywhere.
Nothing can resist the greed of the owner. Not even the floor.
What is left of the main entrance.
Total absence of maintenance...
The last room still has a face worthy.
The next room is already less rosy.
We sit a few minutes, enjoy the show and we leave.
