Church demolition has become a fashion in recent years, both in France and in Belgium. And, chance or not, they often occur in
municipalities run by a powerful left-wing party whose color is red. Erasing churches from the landscape has become a credo for
these people, but out of primary anticlericalism or in order not to offend their new voters ? A bit of both, certainly.
Regardless, the demolition of this famous place was completely illegal and unnecessary. As proof, a judge ordered the demolition work
to stop immediately and since then we can admire a half-demolished church in the middle of a field of ruin. How beautiful...
