As reconversion, the abandoned swimming pool visited on this day should be cited as an example.
Built during the inter-war period as a wastewater treatment plant, it will be quickly overwhelmed by the volume of polluted water
constantly growing. Abandoned a few years, it will be bought by an individual and will be converted into outdoor swimming pool.
During the darkest hours of World War II, the pool is one of the few pleasures that local people can afford.
Unfortunately, shortly after the Liberation, a fatal accident put an end to the short career of the pool.
Since then, nothing...
A reconstruction of the roof took place a few years ago for a new reconversion. But as always, budgets have been reduced and since, it's the stand-by.
Quick visit to a small spot without much interest but nice to do, if we disregard the wasp nest, the ant colony and the traditional stinging nettles.
The welcoming committee.
The old pool, abandoned for 60 years.
The building of the old wastewater treatment plant, abandoned for much longer.
The pool is almost no longer discernible.
Ultimate remnants of the water treatment plant : what appears to be settling ponds.
To the floor below.

Renovation broken down...
