What's more original for escaping a bit of routine than visiting an abandoned prison ? Thing done with Prison 15H.
Rare enough in Europe, the abandoned prisons offer a really unpleasant sensation : we lock ourselves in a cell and we imagine
the daily life of the guy being there for 5, 10, 20 or 30 years... Simply hellish. On the other hand, if people ended up here, it
was for a good reason.
It must be said that in the penitentiary that interests us, the comfort is very... rustic. Built largely in the 19th
century, it has been little modernized. Designed for a thousand prisoners, the tiny cells pile up along endless (particularly narrow)
and five-storey corridors. With each look, the decrepit state is obvious. And to say that this decrepitude is not even caused by a
long abandonment...
Dedicated to demolition since it closed about ten months ago, the old penitentiary complex is still standing. It should be replaced by a new
modern prison, but as nothing is simple (or correctly done, it depends) in the administrations, the penitentiary is waiting for
its end.
Sentenced to a few months, his abandonment could become perpetual ...
