Discovery of an unlikely complex lost in the middle of the Dutch countryside.
Sint-Anna Klooster is a heterogeneous set of buildings around an 17th century castle. Growing constantly from 1910,
it will display a whole series of buildings of different styles and eras, as well as a vast and astonishing neo-Romanesque
L-shaped chapel.
A veritable maze, the venerable walls have housed successively a religious congregation, a care home, a psychiatric hospital,
a home for single women, and finally an institution dedicated to children.
In this regard, it would appear that during the 1950s, 34 girls and boys died in circumstances still unclear. Atmosphere...
Edit
The site was greatly destroeyd in November 2012. The remaining wings will be transformed into housing.
If we can rejoice in the renaissance of the place, we can still regret the disappearance of a large part of the buildings, even if
they didn't have a great architectural or historical interest.

Aerial view showing the complex at the time of its splendor.
Since then, the left wing has already disappeared for a long time and of the complex visited, only the chapel (far right) and the
castle (center left, white walls) still exist.
Let's visit a castle. Not really.
A bush growing inside.
The stars room.
A corridor not really welcoming.
Towards darkness...
Clear/obscure.
The veins of the building.
The little attic cluttered with pipes.
Invitation for the chapel.
The Stations of the Cross, almost intact.
The tribune of organ, all marble.
Indiscreet look...
The sacristy.
The appearance of the cross.
Instant of reflection.
Same room, full light. The person who has forgotten his iron is asked to pick it up.
Stained glass windows, in excellent condition.
One of the two bells, mouth in the air.
Just like the unfortunately inaccessible bells, a monumental clock of astonishing cleanliness.
The counterweights of the clock. Don't get caught on the head !
Always the clock, face side...
The marble staircase.
The royal entrance.
The woodwork room.
Wall or ceiling ?
The green office...
... and its modern chandelier.
Some faience’s still present. Are they really from Delft ?
The floor of the castle in lack of stability.
The office of the chimney-mushroom.
Sector not really reassuring. The floor is very tired.
The big attic.
The roof frame is beautiful.
The village church always watches over it.
The roofs of the castle.
The large central courtyard.
Entrances of the chapel and the cloister.
The exteriors.
The fractured Virgin.
Part of the complex.
See you soon.
